Wedding Dresses

Wedding dresses are a big event in the marriage circuit. Wedding dresses are needed desperately by the couple and there are various options available. One has to see which kind one wants and what is one`s budget.

If you are going in for a Christian wedding you could go in for a gown. There are gowns for formal, semi-formal and informal occasions. For a formal one there is the traditional white or coloured long gown up to the ankles and the veil is normally below the knee level. Then there is the informal occasion in which one buys for oneself the short gown up to the knees or a suit which is most popular these days. It suits a working woman, makes her feel more organised about the whole thing. Then there is the fabric. One normally goes in for taffeta or maybe silk.

If you go in for a Hindu wedding you get dressed up in a lehenga, or a sari, there is not much trend for a salwar Kameez, right now, at least I don`t know of one wedding where that was worn for the wedding, maybe some Punjabi or Sikh wedding. The colour is normally red or pink or could be in similar tones and the work is heavy, brocade, embroidery, glittery elements and the cloth could be silk or taffeta. Lehenga is also heavy and with gold work on it and in intricate designs.

This is the way wedding dresses go and its no wonder that a lot of time is spent on this particular element in a wedding ceremony. The work one looks for must be intricate and detailed and the work of a master craftsman. Many people work on one dress or sari at a time and these dresses are very expensive. They take many days to complete and the labour is intensive.

The dress must be selected well in advance as there are many people watching you and then the photographs are forever and you must look your best for this one very special occasion in your life with the whole world watching you and so go out there and make merry and get yourself a nice wedding dress and wear it with verve and style and wear it with the makeup of your choice and show the world how great you can look sometimes.

The men wear an Achkan and a Churidar and this is normally in shadows of cream and beige, with embroidery. There are various designers who would do a good job for you.

So go on and get wild on your wedding.
